It’s Halgrim’s 40th birthday and the team is organizing a surprise party to celebrate. ![]() Tonight’s 2-part episode - “Codename: Ithaca” - is named for Odysseus’ home. The series is analogous to Homer’s Odyssey in many respects, with Halgrim as a moden day, a half-Danish/half-Icelandic Odysseus who gives each case a codename based on a character from the epic Greek poem. The lead investigator is the charismatic Halgrim Ørn Hallgrimsson (Jens Albinus, Borgen), nicknamed “The Eagle” (“Ørnen”) for his ability to see things that others don’t. The Eagle: A Crime Odyssey follows an elite Danish criminal investigation team that deals with cross-border crimes across Scandinavia and Europe. All good shows must come to an end, and so it is with the Danish crime drama The Eagle: A Crime Odyssey ( Ørnen: En Krimi-Odyssé), whose final two episodes screen tonight on MHz Networks. ![]()
